Dear Parents

Thank you for expressing your desire to have your child receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The reception of Confirmation is a very important moment in the life of a Catholic as they receive the gift of the Spirit to help them discover and carry out their unique mission in the world.

In order to help your child understand the significance of this occasion, it is, of course, necessary for them to complete a period of preparation and formation. If your child attends one of our Catholic schools, the preparation is usually undertaken at the school. If your child is not in a Catholic school, s/he will need to attend the parish religious education programme; please contact the parish office for more information.

The Cathedral parish is committed to safeguarding. Please talk to children taking part in our programs about the Code of Conduct which helps us keep everyone safe.
