Welcome
Welcome to St Mary’s Cathedral, a place of faith, history, and community in the heart of Perth. As the spiritual home for many, we invite you to experience the beauty of our liturgy, the warmth of our parish, and the call to journey together in faith.
Whether you’re visiting for quiet prayer, attending Mass, or looking to get involved, our doors are always open. May this sacred space be a source of peace, renewal, and inspiration for all who enter.

Dean’s Message
We are a community of believers, part of the Catholic communion, which responds to the invitation of the Lord to believe in him and to know the gentleness of his heart. We are also a people which opens our arms and invites all to join us on the journey.
You are welcome to our beautiful Cathedral home wherever you are on the journey of life. We are called by Christ to welcome all and we seek to be, in the words of Pope Francis, ‘a field hospital’.
Come for a brief visit or to join us on the journey. As Pope Francis says: ‘The doors of the church are open to everyone, everyone, everyone!’

Our Community
St Mary’s Cathedral is more than just a place of worship; it’s a vibrant community where faith comes to life. We open our doors to everyone, welcoming you to join us in celebrating faith, serving others, and building lasting connections.
From young adults seeking fellowship to organisations dedicated to helping those in need, there’s a place for everyone in our Cathedral family.
Our Mission
We strive to be an inspiring Catholic community in the heart of our city, welcoming everyone and providing sanctuary for the marginalised, the sorrowful and the seeker of Jesus’ love.
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Becoming
Catholic
Everyone can share in some way in the life of the Church; everyone can be part of the community, nor should the doors of the sacraments be closed for simply any reason. This is especially true of the sacrament which is itself “the door”: baptism. The Eucharist, although it is the fullness of sacramental life, is not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak.

Support Our
Cathedral
St Mary’s Cathedral is a cornerstone of faith, a heritage landmark, and a place of spiritual refuge for countless people. Supporting the Cathedral ensures that this sacred space continues to inspire, serve, and stand as a beacon of hope for future generations.

Safeguarding
St Mary’s Cathedral Parish acknowledges that safeguarding is a shared responsibility prioritising the care, protection and best interests of children and adults at risk.
By providing a safe environment, actively identifying and managing risk, and complying with the Safeguarding policy, guidelines and legal obligations, we serve Jesus and uphold human dignity as the foundation of our faith. We aim for our parish to be safe, welcoming, and inclusive.

The Cathedral parish acknowledges the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, the Traditional Owners who have walked upon and cared for this land for thousands of years. We acknowledge the continued deep spiritual attachment and relationship of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to this country and commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.
